Colorfully Cool! A Kitchen Study Cove in the Pantry

Yesterday over at Ohdeedoh they took a look at different places to study throughout the home. The kitchen is a common landing place for kids to take care of homework while parents are throwing together dinner, but this nook and kitchen in general was so crazy awesome, we just had to share.

There are so many fabulous things about this space, as well as design risks that many of us might not have had the guts to take. The cabinet colors are crazy cool, like a burst of lemon and lime grounded with a bit of black pepper (everything related to food right?).

The colors are offset by the size of the space and the adjacent nook that is part pantry, part cookbook storage, library and home office. It looks like a great place to stash a computer near the kitchen, or a spot for kids to study without risk of pasta water boiling over on their math homework.

This might seem to be a kitchen that only exists in your dreams, but it might be obtainable on a smaller scale as well, in more modest size homes or even apartments. Many kitchens have a pantry, and although this space is great for storing food, cabinets can do that job while you convert the little nook into a kitchen-based study spot. The desk can be as narrow as the door is wide, with shelves going all the way up to the ceiling. It's a fun idea to file away for the day we all build our dream homes or renovate an entire kitchen at once!
